Screen printing is a process of decorating apparel dating back to the 1930's. Art work is created, then seperated into spot colors that are burned on to a screen made of streched silk mesh. The burning process clogs or opens the screen allowing ink to filter through and lay on to the garment. After the ink is dry it becomes permanently attached or dyed in the fabric. The more colors a design has the more complicated this process. Monster Press Screen Printing recommends using at least two colors when designing graphics in order to create depth of the garment.
